Re: Replacing scales on Buck 500 (501 Squire)

No problem. Thank you.

It should be fun although I cannot get to it for 1 month.

Well, actually I can get to it but I won't have my sander to shape the scales until my birthday in September! lol

Re: Replacing scales on Buck 500 (501 Squire)

Thank you
Do you know if I need to grind the rivets off or just pry the handle without doing so?
In the video, one of the scales is already missing so hard for me to tell.

Replacing scales on Buck 500 (501 Squire)

I have never done this before on any knife, but am determined to replace the scales on a 110, then a 501. I like the buffalo look. Sure the custom shop can make me a custom one of each, but I believe I can "handle" doing so myself. Plenty of videos on the 110 around but any videos or tutor...

Were the knives themselves made by Canal or just the wood provided by Canal?

I just ordered a Chestnut trailing hunter for fun. Hard to find these days.

Anyone know the final production numbers of the Chestnut for each pattern?

I still have a pinch lock.

I'd like to see one of the Yoopers.
I am not a fan of the laser engraving though.

Rapid River Knife Works

I just ordered my first Rapid River knife.

Anyone have any feedback on these?

Made in MI, USA. Nice to see knives made in America that don't have to cost hundreds of dollars.

So any word on if there are any plans going forward with CSC or another incarnation of it?

Some are up 50% or more.
So, I would say yes they are commanding a nice premium over what they used to sell for.

Re: North American Elk Horn Cannitler

::nod::
Yep the North American Elk Horn is a bit more expensive (material wise) than the Chestnut and bone. FWIW The NA Elk (50 made) is priced lower than the MSRP ($150) of the Chestnut (600 made) & open stock bone (400).

Re: Any other CASE canoe collectors out there?

Several posts back someone asked about a Stainless Steel Case canoe with the Indian in the canoe etch - most of the canoe etches seemed to be confined to the CV Case canoes. Well, about a week or so ago I stumbled across an entire tray of SS Case canoes with the Indian in the canoe etch at a pawn s...
