Old or remake walden?
I have read some things on here about reuse of the old Schrade Walden tang stamp. So how would I know if this is original or a remake? If it is a reuse, how old is it. http://www.ebay.com/itm/230732028770?ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1431.l2649 My first clue that it's not original is...

Re: Dollar Specials
Picked this one up for $2 bucks. Imperial-Ireland.
Question is: Is it chinese? How old is it?
It's dang near mint condition and has really nice blade snap. However, not sure it was worth $.02 cents.

Re: This Doesn’t Make Sense
Unfortunately, Gwinnett county where this happened, is a suberb of Atlanta(metro atlanta). Guns , knives, drugs and "gang" related use of all three in or around our schools is a weekly, if not daily news story. I still don't agree with zero tolerance with no regard for the particulars of t...

Here's the knife or should I say my sons "kewl knife". After he helped in a little clean up. Pretty funny that my android takes better pics than my hp photo smart M415 digi camera.
Thx again.

Re: This Doesn’t Make Sense
Not proud to say that this was right here in my home state. This is just typical of american society today. The majority suffers for the idiocy of the few. The idea of zero tolerance is a novel idea to stop the kids who are intending to cause harm with a weapon but to blindly punish in lieu of the f...

Thanks everybody!
Vit_213 that time period fits with the small ammount of info I have. My son will love it all the more and have the cooliest knife in his troop. I am sure my grandfather is smiling about my nostalgic interest and his great grandson carrying his knife.

Re: I need a little help with this
Here is one more photo through a strong magnifying glass. I see the small pock mark that you see in the picture. However, after further inspection that's all it is, a pock mark. The makers mark is deep and crystal clear under magnification, not so much in the pictures I am posting. There is not even...

Re: I need a little help with this
My main question is that mine only has A.W.jr over the coat of armor. No Solingen or germany anywhere. I have not found one with this identical mark anywhere. I never felt like the knife was that old in my gut. I just know that the mark seems different than anything else I can find. My only other gu...

Re: I need a little help with this
Trail I do not dispute the fact that these guys have way more knowledge than I could ever hope to have. They have already helped me a great deal. I used their info to research the knife and found very little. The ONLY thing I did find pointed to the fact that it was pretty old. However, it does not ...

Re: I need a little help with this
Here is the link to the only comparable knife that I could find. http://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/rare-vintage-anton-wingen-jr-stag-jagdnicker The same knife except it is stainless. Let me be clear. I am obviously NOT a collector just a junior enthusiast at best. I like to do research on old kn...

Re: I need a little help with this
Sorry.....I missed the reply where you guys dated it for me? You did inform me that it's german and by Anton Wengin jr. but all info that i find says : the fact that it has a full suit of armor mark and no solingen/germany mark shows that it was either not intinded for export or before the country m...

I need a little help with this
I recently picked up, at a yardsale, a Anton Wingen Jr. Stag Jagdnicker. The only mark on the knife is AWJR with the full coat of arms underneath (Othello?). The mark is in the middle of the blade across the witdh, it is a relatively small mark/stamp. The mark is a relatively deep stamp not an etchi...

Re: American Made Hunting & Fishing Fixed Blade Knives
Thx Miller Bro's. I had just found that out and was returning red faced to say that it is NOT american. It is German. It is intended as a a hunting knife the best I can tell. However, I have not been able to find the exact same knife or anything even similar to it. Dating it may prove harder than fi...

Re: American Made Hunting & Fishing Fixed Blade Knives
After further clean up and inspection I found a mark on the middle of the blade. The mark is four letters A W J and i think an S? Under the letters is a full suit of armor w helmet holding a sword pointed down by it's side. I have searched the letters and have found nothing? The knife 9.5 inches ove...

Re: American Made Hunting & Fishing Fixed Blade Knives
I love this old knife. Although I have no Idea of the maker. Pretty sure it's high carbon steel and bone. Not even sure if it is hunting/fishing or just carving cutlery. Also pretty sure it's american made. Either way I am currently having a sheath made. Any ideas?

Re: Dollar Specials
I am pretty sure that the girl was selling off stuff from a break-up/divorce. She didn't even haggle when I told her to throw in the three old ones with the Boker for $20 and I would take 'em. I felt a bit guilty for a second but she didn't even twitch when I asked? The ole boy must have really done...
