Heroin - Prayer Warrior "Give Away"
Our neighbor's grandson is battling heroin addiction and I'm seeking out people willing to take him on as a long term prayer cause. Here is Zachary's story along with a bit of my story. This is leading to what may be oddest GAW in AAPK history but it's important to me and to Zachary. The house we li...

Stepped away from the keyboard during Lent and didn't come back. Got a nudge the other day.
Same carry as pretty much always. Opinel #9 in RFP. Leatherman Micra in LFP. Both have seen use already and its not even 9:30.

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
I think I recall driving over a big bridge that looked down into the General Dynamics shipyard back when they were using those giant cranes. I've got the same trapperlock and gec 15 today. Yup. It was called "Goliath" I think. Eventually sold to ship yard in ?Poland?. They took it apart i...

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
Been awhile. Quite busy.
This combo has been in my pockets pretty much uninterrupted other than the occasional Sunday change up.
Other knives frustrate me more and keep me with this, more so than boredom that might drive to something else.
I think that's good.

Wonderful.
Enjoy it and don't be afraid to beat on it. If it breaks, the knife universe will continue to carry on. It's a $15 knife and made to be worked hard.

Did the transfer happen?
Any word from PigSticker?
If not, we may be at the end of the run for the pass around.

Re: POSTING ON AAPK BEWARE! YOUR FREEDOM OF SPEECH=VERY LIMI
Mods are always right, even if they're wrong. It's like being captain of the ship, driver of the car, head cook in the kitchen. At the end of the day, there can only be one person/group controlling it. I've moderated forums and have made the right calls and wrong calls. Like balls and strikes, someb...

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
The Opinel (in RFP) continues and continues and continues to be the right carry for me. Like finding the shoes or pants that fit just right. The Micra (in LFP) continues to amaze me. Has all the beauty of a Vulcan art gallery but I've not found anything in the world that packs in as much utility per...

Re: Think of getting sharp pocket knife...
Sharp for what? I've found that blade grind matters a ton for me. Cutting meat? I prefer a hollow grind. Cutting veggies and potatoes or cutting down cardboard, I like a flat grind. Cutting wood, I like a thin convex grind. Splitting wood, a thicker saber grind. Best all'round for me (but maybe not ...

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
This has definitely settled in as my day in/day out carry. Funny, the desire to carry other stuff has waned. I'm finding other knives to be frustrating in some way or another. Weird and not expected.

Re: Opinel Pass Around Thread - It's On!
Woot, woot. Remember, keep a thumb on the lock ring to monitor for it spinning on you. One direction will give much better lock up. Don't be bashful or timid with it. If you can bust it, we'll all learn something. Batoning is fine, just leave the lock in the open position so it can pivot. Blade migh...

MillerBro, I think TripleF/Scott has bowed out, or at least my understanding in talking with Wade is that's what Scott communicated to him. I'm planning on letting this ride till there's absolutely no takers, so if TripleF/Scott has more time or changes his mind later on, that's perfectly fine. I su...

I think he's next in line. I'll leave it to the 2 of you to figure out the logistics of shipping. Please pass along any final...

Re: Opinel Pass Around Thread - It's On!
Wade, Thanks for the great update. My sense is that the uses you've been putting it to are right in it's wheel house. On jobs like you describe, I find it nice to have something I can put in my pocket but is both big enough for the task and not afraid to be dropped or even shoved into the earth. Ver...

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
This has definitely settled down as my most common carry. Might even try to stick with it straight for a bit. That never seems to work with me. But I'm getting to the point now where other knives actually annoy me more than the boredom of the same old knife every day.

Re: Opinel Pass Around Thread - It's On!
Wade, The most important thing here is that you're on the mend!! ::tu:: ::tu:: I to find the #10 to be a bit too big for EDC use, which is why it is out on a pass around instead of hanging out in my EDC bowl. I wear XL sized gloves and find the #9 to be just perfect in my hand. The blade is ...
