Thanks for all info.As I was doing some researching there was info about when certain dying techniques were used on the delran and where the scales met the bolsters you could see a color line where the scales were cut,thought someone might Know about that.Thanks all

Today it was the yellow GEC Western Trapper.I rotate between that and the Case Stockman,Never carry the bottom knife as that is a very rare Schrade 8813ss pre peachseed rigged handled stockman from the early 1920’s in mint condition.

Here is one,Schrade Cut Co. Texas pattern Stockman 8813 SS from the early 20's,Rare being a Stainless bladed model from that era.

I picked up a Schrade cut co 8813 SS and was wondering the quality of the blade steel from that era,pretty sure the knife is from the 1920's and in excellent condition.Did their stainless hold a good edge and be somewhat durable as stainless really was not used as often as carbon was.Any info would ...

What stainless steel did Schrade Cut Co. Use
I have a Schrade Cut Co SS 8813 and was wondering the type of stainless they used back then as I can not find any info from the 1926 catalog or anywhere else.The knife I have is from the 1920's from what I researched and been told because of the older jigging.Thanks for any help from the experts.Lou

Just picked up this Cut Co SS 8813 in excellent shape,blades do not have a mark on them.From what I have been told and researched it is a earlier jigging pattern before the peachseed.Enjoy some photos

Picked up that Cut Co today and it is better than I thought.The blades show absolutely no sharpening marks at all,this knife is in prestine condition.I do not have a photo bucket account but pm me and I can text some pics.Thanks

Yes it looked just like that one,blades were in great shape did not even looked to be sharpened.How rare were they as I just might go and get it now that I know that it probably is real.

I seen a 4 inch stockman pattern Schrade today at a used knife shop with a tang stamp,Schrade cut co. Walden N.Y. and was wondering if they used stainless steel for blades back then as this one was marked SS on the spey blade and there was not any sign of patina on any of the blades as I thought it ...

Info on Great Eastern fixed blade knives
I am trying to get info on the GEC fixed blade canoe and bird and trout patterns.How thick are the blades at the choil and how stout are the blades. Are they good for camp chores and quartering and boning deer. talking 1095 not 440c.Thanks for any input

Was thinking about getting one of the 73 pattern fixed blade knives,and would like to know about the canoe and the bird and trout patterns.How is the spine thickness on these knives,are they stout.Mostly used for dressing and boning deer and camp use.Thanks for any info
