Re: Buck Bucklock 1 531 Sawby Knife Rare Vintage Box Papers
"Old Hunter" I did read what was in that article on the page you posted and I believe you are correct " the first batch of 531's was made up of 100 knives, 25% were returned to Buck under the recall - 75 were left". If that article's quote about the 531 is accurate then there ar...

Re: Buck Bucklock 1 531 Sawby Knife Rare Vintage Box Papers
A Question, if I do in fact have one of the first 75 built (I think I do). Were they recalled ? If so than I might have one in less than 75. What do you all think ?

Re: Buck Bucklock 1 531 Sawby Knife Rare Vintage Box Papers
More info from "Old Hunter" in the Buck Knife Collector's Forum on this site: From reading what was posted at Blade, it appears you have one of 75 known to be left untouched. Your blade is marked for 1988, so it was made in the first batch (or the blades were made in 88 and the knives ass...

You unlock it by pushing the metal piece with your thumb. It turns a kind of a cam inside the knife.

Re: Buck Bucklock 1 531 Sawby Knife Rare Vintage Box Papers
Thank you for your comments. These Knives don't come cheap but I wanted this knife. They were discontinued and I think recalled back in 1988 for the Sawby Locking System liability issues. From what I have read these about these first ones, there are very few in existence.

Thank you for all your input I appreciated it. I like the knife and it's a Case so if the price was right on or a bit over, I don't mind. I think it will make a nice daily pocket carrier to put in my rotation.....::groove:: They had one other pic of the other side of the knife, I'll post it here. T...

Case #31549L cv five x One Blade, Very Rare Knive
Won this one last night on EBay, I like the look and it was an old Case
Questions: Is this a rare Case knife as stated ? Was it worth the $45.00 I spent ?
Thanks,
Draac

I picked up this cool little knife at a flee market this weekend for a buck.
Looks like it might be from the late 40s or the 50s.

Re: Official Boy Scouts of America Knife - Fixed Blade
Draac, can you get a shot of the mark on the back-side of the blade? Currently I've only got one BSA-marked Western (like the bottom knife in the pic Ramrod posted); given the limited run of that pattern, we might get some information comparing the stamps. Sorry the backisde is too pitted to read w...

I picked this knife up at a flee market this summer for a dollar, my reasearch says it is from Potugal ?
The scales on the knife are beautiful, I think they are some type of plastic or bakalite. What is your take on this knife ?

Re: Knives For about Buck Each At A Flee Market
TripleF you are correct abou the Kutmaster's seal it does have a GS on it. As for the advertising sliding knife. I do not see made in the USA anywhere but what it does say in the plastic is Congelton Lumber Co. on the outside side of the slider thingy and Phone 2-4388 on the inside of the slider. On...
