Re: Jack Knife
Thank's for the compliments, fellows. It is pretty stout Glen. The blade is .125" and the liners and locking liner are .060". It has a nice weight to it. I plan on taking it to the Blade Show to show to a couple of friends after that it will probably end up being an x-mas gift for one of m...

Nice work, really like the stag!! I'm thinking about making a lock back sometime in the future. Did you copy an existing lock back mechanism, work from a book or free styled it?

Jack Knife
I haven't posted anything over here AAPK in a while. I have been trying my hand at making a complete pocket knife rather than rebuilding/customizing factory knives. Here are some pic's of my 2nd slipjoint, that I finished up this morning. The blade and spring are O1. The scales are Cocobolo. The lin...

Re: My new work knife
Looks nice. Jantz sells a spinning tool for about $14. Like MM said used mainly on bone. On all the wood handle reworks I've done I do flat pins, easier than spinnig and gives the knife a cleaner look IMHO.

Re: Colonial Forest Master
Thank's everyone Chief - I did consider re-installing the bail, but after I had it pretty well finished I didn't want to take a chance of screwing up the bolsters by drilling additional holes. I never done it, but I think for that style bail you would have to drill into the bolsters adjacent to the ...

Re: Providence Cutlery Co. Barlow
Thanks fellows, Jerry- I think hundred years from now (provided we're still around) people will still be collecting knives. Hopefully this one will be my great, great, great grandson's EDC, along with his GEC laser trapper. Seriously though, the last few knives I've redone I started engraving my name...

Re: Using blades from a different knife
MM here are pic's of the two knives. If you have some replacement blades for these it would be much appreciated. The tang thickness of the top one in the pic's is .093 and the bottom one is .090 http://i869.photobucket.com/albums/ab257/Plas62/Camuillis%20Scout%20Knives/DSCF2356_zps1fd96fb8.jpg http:...

Using blades from a different knife
I'm hoping some of you fellows with more experience can help me out. I have a couple of older scout knives that I would like to restore sometime that the main blades will have to replaced on and I am trying to scrounge up some replacements from other knifes that I have. I know the blade tang has to ...

Providence Cutlery Co. Barlow
Here's a Providence Cutlery Co. shell handled Barlow with a razor style blade that I just finished in stag. I also made brass liners and nickle silver bolsters for it. The secondary blade was pitted pretty badly, so I just used the main blade. Jim Before http://i869.photobucket.com/albums/ab257/Plas...
