Re: Case Tested Stag Rail Splitter

Thanks much for the quick reply, fellas. It’s good to get back in the saddle with my first post! The insight is much appreciated on the Rail Splitter. I’ve owned it for a long time and always wondered if the handles were original to the knife. It’s still a keeper as I really like the pattern and hef...

Case Tested Stag Rail Splitter

Greetings, After several years of putting aside this great hobby, I’ve started getting back into my collection and rediscovering some oldies but goodies. Here’s a Case Tested Stag Rail Splitter without a brand shield. I have never seen one like this except in Steve Pfeiffer’s book, “Collecting Case ...

Re: Cheetah XX USA needs swing guard

Hey Bob, Jerry, Thanks for your input. Jerry, I see your point and may end up sending it in to Case to see if they can retrofit with swing guard from new generation Cheetah. As a DIY, Case does not sell its parts so I would have to find donor Cheetah. (I have a few other Case knives that also need d...

Cheetah XX USA needs swing guard

Howdy y'all. I recently picked up a 1965-69 Cheetah that is missing the swing guard. I'm hoping someone might know where I can find old parts and where to send it for expert repair work. I've checked with Case but they do not have the parts on models pre-2000.
Thanks much!

Looking to trade for Puma folders

Howdy, I'm interested in trading for pre-1980s Puma folders: 4 star, 965, 572, 835, 970, 971, 972 etc. Would prefer items in excellent to mint condition. I have available for trade a wide range of quality US and German traditional folders; also, fixed blades and some tactical. Thanks for your consid...

Re: the FRONTIER Series - 4625

Regarding the 46 pattern, I have two different "25" types: one has clip and skinning blade with nickel bolsters; the other, clip and spear blade, liner lock, and brass bolsters. I can't find any data in Frontier brochures or price list that support the existence on two different models of ...

Thanks, Dale! Makes sense. Do you have any of the CCC's? I'm buying a few here and there and curious about where collectors think the market may be headed for this series?

Camillus Cartridge Collection

Just wondering if any Camillus followers could help me on a few questions regarding the Cartridge Collection Series. I recently bought a CCC-2, my first one, and it's a heckuva product. I learned Camillus made the series from 1991-1997 and produced seven models in total. The CCC 1-6 appear to be ava...

Thanks, Blue. I took a pass on this one - it sold for around $38 - you got a great deal on yours! I'll keep looking b/c I do like some of the Ltd. Editions. Recently found a 'pristine 77 Amercian Indian Canoe in a pawn shop for $17. Came with all original packaging, too. Love finding Bokers at low p...

American Hardware Industry Ltd. Edition 1979

I've been collecting various Bokers for the past year and have had my eye on the American Hardware model. They pop up every now and then on ebay, usually available in original box and with paperwork. IThey sell anywhere from in the $30s to $70s. I own an older 2000 440c and like the solid feel, desi...

Re: storing your folders

Thanks for the feedback and links - Ken, that rock looks like it should be in a museum :lol! Sounds like there's more people are using the VCI stuff. Might have to pick up some of the The Inhibitor plugs. In case anyone is interested, I got a great deal on a huge roll of the stuff direct from VCIArm...

storing your folders

Hey everybody, To better preserve my growing collection of folders, I've recently started using ArmorVCI, a corrosion inhibiting paper for the protection of non-ferous metals. At first, I was using it to wrap my celluloid folders, but I now diagonally wrap all of my knives and then put them in a kni...

Re: Cool new forum - lets see some Tree Brand

Howdy! Just was catching up on the Boker Studies forum and glad to see another old Boker like mine. I saw the recent listing for the 5974 on ebay, too. I'm still hoping to learn more history about it. Like Blue says, nobody knows much about them and that makes me more curious. While the blades on mi...

Identification needed on South American Presentation Knife

Hello everybody, I came across this interesting piece at a garage sale yesterday and bought it if for a whopping $4. It appears to be a presentation knife from South America, maybe Brazil, and has a total length of 14-1/2" . The blade looks to be stainless steel and has a motif of gaucho life. ...

Estate Sale Find - Korium Japan

Greetings! While estate sale hunting this weekend, I bought this interesting looking fixed blade knife among a large lot of folders. The shank measures 9-3/4" and the mark is KORIUM JAPAN. It looks like it has bone slabs, brass rivets, and alloy bolster/tang/eagle head butt. The etching is in J...

Re: Question on Remington Trademark Etching R1173

Thanks for weighing in on my post! I really like Remington Bullet repros, their heritage, the build quality, price/value and that they were made in USA. I started collecting the list in Seargent's book several months ago -- only two more to go: R1123, R1613. Besides the box, the R1173 is in pristine...

Question on Remington Trademark Etching R1173

Hello All, I recently purchased a 1983 Baby Bullet R1173, no cracks in the scales and in mint condition. One thing I have noticed, on the clip blade there is a faded out etching of the Remington trademark and another one on top of it and slightly off center. Although it may be hard to see, I've incl...
