2nd Generation Bulldog Brand Knives

Bulldog Three Blade Trapper KnifeBulldog Second Generation 3 Blade Trapper Coon Stripe
This is a 3 blade Trapper. The blades are marked 1985 but they are left over from 1985 Old Dominion Club Knives and were assembled in 1991 and 1992, making this a second generation knife. The tang is stamped with the Fighting Dogs Stamp with English Steel 1985 on the third blade. The handles are Coon Stripe Celluloid with a round Bulldog Shield. This is a RARE knife, only 40 were made.


Bulldog Tobacco Canoe Knife2 Blade Greenbone Tobacco Canoe
This is a 3 5/8 inch 2 blade Canoe. All the blades have the Fighting Dogs tang stamp. The master blade has the Tobacco etch. The handles are Greenbone with the Tobacco Leaf Shield with Tobacco stamped inside. This is made with 1986 English Steel Blades.

1986 English Steel Blades, why isn't this a first generation knife? Please look at the First Generation Greenbone Canoes, in the Tobacco series and you'll notice a difference. For one this looks much more green and the First Generation looks brown. For another reason, look at the jigging, it's different than the first generation, if you look, it looks like the Third Generation jigging. But the Third Generation Canoes have a Pit-Bull Trademark etch, not Tobacco. By looking at these, we know that this is not a First Generation and it?s not a Third Generation. Most Second Generation used First Generation blades, we now know that this is a Second Generation Knife!


Bulldog Brand Bullet Trapper KnifeBulldog Second Generation Bullet Trapper Brown Bone
This is a 2 blade Bullet Trapper. The tang is stamped with the Fighting Dogs Stamp with English Steel 1985 on a second blade. The handles are Jigged Brown Bone with a Round Bulldog Shield. This knife has a Clip Master Blade with no etch. These knives were made from left over blades from a Barlow production in 1991/92. This knife is BKC 474, 1 of 36.


Bulldog Brand 1986 Stockman KnifeSecond Generation 3 ? inch Stockman
This is a 3 ? inch closed 3 blade Stockman. The master blade has The Pit-Bull Trademark etch. The handles are Light Brown Bone with the Spade Shield. All the tangs have the Fighting Dogs Stamp. One of the tangs has a date stamp of 1986 English Steel. This knife is is a Second Generation knife made from First Generation blades.

The knife has the correct jigging for a First Generation knife but the Light Brown Bone identifies it as a Second Generation knife. There were only 36 made in this configuration during the Second Generation.


Bulldog Brand Cowboy's Pet Stockman KnifeBulldog Knife 4 inch Cowboy's Pet Brown Bone Stainless Steel
This 3 blade Cowboy?s Pet Stockman model has Stainless Steel Blades. The master blade has The Cowboy's Pet etch. Overall length of this knife is 4 inches closed. The handles are Brown Bone with the Spade Shield. One of the tangs has a date stamp of 1984. The Cowboy's Pet was the only stainless steel knife of the First Generation. This knife is is a Second Generation knife made from First Generation parts.

Why isn?t this a first generation knife? Look at the jigging, it's different than First Generation, it is Third Generation style jigging, not First Generation. It is not Third Generation because it does not have a 1993 date stamp or Surgical Instrument Steel stamp on one of the tangs, it has stainless on one tang. Also the etch is different, it has Stainless Steel at the bottom of the etch and the etch is plainer, there is no scrolling in the etch. By reading the knife this way, we know that it is a Second Generation knife.


Bulldog Cattle King Stockman KnifeCATTLE KING Brown Bone knife ENGLISH STEEL 1985
This is a 3 blade Cattle King Equal End Stockman. The master blade has the Cattle King etch. The tang is stamped with the Fighting Dogs Stamp on all tangs with English Steel 1985 stamped on the reverse of 1. Overall length of this knife is 4 1/4 inches closed. The handles are Brown Bone with the Bowtie Shield with pinched fancy Front Bolsters. This knife is is a Second Generation knife made from First Generation parts.

This is a Second Generation 2 blade Dogleg Trapper model. The master blade has the Old Reliable etch. The tang is stamped with the Fighting Dogs Stamp on all tangs. Overall length of this knife is 3 7/8 inches closed. The handles are Greenbone with the Acorn Shield. 1985 English Steel Blades.

This is a 2 blade Moose Pattern. The master blade has the Lumberjack etch with a long pull. The tang is stamped with the Fighting Dogs Stamp on all tangs. Overall length of this knife is 4 inches closed. The handles are beautiful Genuine Stag with a Diamond Shied. This knife is Bulldog number BKC 270-A. 36 knives were made in this configuration. Many old time collectors will look upon this knife as being of recent manufacture. This knife has new Stag, not what is typically found on first or second Generation knives.

This is a 4 inch closed Premium Stockman. The tang is stamped with the Fighting Dogs Tang Stamp on all tangs. The master blade has the Quarter Horseman Etch.
