Great Eastern Northfield Un-X-LD Harness Jack knife, model 542208P. Measures 4" closed. Red Hangman jigged bone handle, with nickel Silver bolsters, and UN-X-LD inlay shield. Spear and punch Carbon Steel blades. Made in Titusville PA., USA, in 2008. Only 50 made, this is number 17, engraved on front bolster. Comes with Certificate Of Authenticity and knife opener, with red jigged bone handle, measures 3 1/2". New, never used, never carried, factory sharp. Original cardboard storage tube. Great Eastern Cutlery is a new knife company, started in 2006. The knives are outstanding quality, and are becoming very popular among collectors. In my opinion, they are the best production knife made. Knife and opener in photo are the ones you will receive. CLOSED LENGTH : 3 3/8th inches long.
HANDLES : Rough black and there is a pin crack at the bottom pin on both sides. The knife has steel bolsters.
TANG STAMPS : The tangs of both blades are stamped in script GRIFFON (over) XX (over) B'PORT, CT.
CONDITION : This knife reflects use and sharpening. Both the spear and the punch look to be full length.
DAMAGE : Pin crack, per above.
AGE : 1893 to present. I am betting that this is a very old knife. The harness jack became pretty much obsolete with the advent of the automobile, plus the steel bolsters.
BLADE WEAR : Both blades show normal wear.
SHIELD AND BLADE ETCH : There is no shield and no etch.
SNAP : Very good and both blades. The spear has a strong half stop.
