ADDITIONAL INFO: The H-50 pattern appears in the 1959 Imperial catalog. That is the last reference to it I have seen in an Imperial catalog. The bone handles are the results of an experiment I conducted in old-fashioned bone dying techniques. I soaked the bone in tobacco from out dated cans of chewing tobacco mixed with water. They soaked for 6 to 8 weeks and then air-dried in my shop for several years. I used the original aluminum guard as a pattern and hand made a new guard from brass. The bone is held on with epoxy and mosaic pins. I did not remove all the surface scratches from the bone so that it appears to have some age to it to march the blade. The pattern is old enough the knife could be used by someone who does Western reenactments. It would make a nice piece for decoration or in a collection. Of course since it is an Imperial, it has great carbon steel and would make an outstanding hunting knife. The knife comes without a sheath.

This knife is a Camillus version of the famous Schrade Sharpfinger. Camillus began the manufacture of this knife after Schrade closed in July 2004. Since the same family owned both companies, Camillus made many knives for Schrade over the years. Camillus closed its doors about 2 ½ years later in February of 2007. When Camillus closed, there were many unfinished blanks sold at auction. This knife is made from one of those blanks. The handles are glued to the tang to prevent moisture from getting between the tang and the handles. Mosaic pins made of brass & nickel silver hold the handles on. It is completed with a brass lined lanyard hole. The pile side tang is etched with my name as the one who customized the knife. This knife comes with a nice leather sheath from Camillus. The sheath has been customized so no metal touches the knife, (to prevent scratching).

ADDITIONAL INFO: To make this knife I started with a used knife with a worn out blade. I replaced the blade with a new unused blade from the Schrade factory. I replaced the handles with the red jigged bone. The Eagle, Globe & Anchor is inlet into the bone. It is held in place both by a pin and by epoxy. I did note the brass Eagle, Globe & Anchor are made of softer brass than the liners. If the knife is to be carried, I would recommend it be carried in a leather pouch or in a pocket without anything else in it except the knife, as I am sure keys & coins would damage the shield.
This would be an excellent memento or your service in the United States Marine Corps or a great gift for the Marine in your life.

ADDITIONAL INFO: This was a 4 line Camillus TL-29 made circa WWII. The blade was broken. I replaced the blade with a blade made in the 1970s or 1980s. I also removed the screwdriver blade and added the easy open cutout to the frame. There was a tight pin crack in the bone at the front pin on the mark side. I glued it and do not think it should be a problem, but the knife should probably not receive super rough usage. The bone is after all 65 years old or older. COA available upon request at no extra charge.
