Antique Jumbo MOOSE Pattern Pocket Knife Classic NESSMUK Pattern
This is a super old MOOSE knife, my guess is pre 1920's era. There is no evidence of any tang stamp!! I think it was never marked. My guess is that this knife was made by Utica, as I have seen some very old Utica marked knives like this with the shield on each side, which is unusual.
4-1/8" closed, sleeveboard Moose pattern, this is the classic Nessmuk pattern. All iron construction - liners, pins, bolsters. Shields are nickel silver. Both blades are full with dark patina, great snap on both with half stops. The black compostion handles ahve some shrinkage and are cracked at the main pin.
A great "project" knife - just imagine this knife cleaned up and rehandled in nice wood, stag, or bone!!
