Folk's, the Ideal Hunting knife was Webster Marble's 1st attempt at knife making, and as it turned out, his most successful.

This is Marble's 1st knife pattern. Prototyped in 1899 in the 1st versions, and by 1901, this Marble's Ideal pattern took America by storm !!! It was in the cockpit on the 1st trans-atlantic flight, carried by explorers worldwide on expeditions to every corner of the world !!! By the end of its 3rd decade of production, (1930) from Pole To Pole, around the globe, the Marble's Ideal was the hunting knife that by which all others were measured !!!

 

Knife is 8 3/4" OAL

Blade is 4 1/4"

This is a half Guard / Hilt Ideal

Blade is Stamped: Marble's with their Banner stamp over USA

Blade is brushed finish high carbon. Ideals are 1st recognized by the Huge Fuller on each side. Heavy brass guard and the famous Marble's spacers.

It is handled in Stacked Leather...which was the prefered handle of its inventor, Webster L. Marble...Marble's was the very 1st Knife Co. to bring the stacked leather handle into widespread use in the U.S.A....built to use a life time, then will it to your grandkids !!! 

Comes to ya New, in original Marbles box, never used or carried

Also has the Original Marble's deep oil tanned leather sheath

  Please Note: This Expert is made with Vintage 1960's blades that were stored at the old Marble's factory...it also comes with signed paperwork on Marble's stationary telling of the vintage blades...when the Lauermans bought Marble's in 1994, they hired Mike Stewart to head their knife division. They then assembled all the vintage blades into collector knives before starting back in regular operation...this is one of them knives !!!

Folk's, rather you be a collector looking for rare Marble's knives to add to your collection, or just wanting to have one hell of a hunting knife that has been tried & true for well over 100 yrs without going into big buck customs for all your hunting need's, boy do I have one for ya here !!!

This is the Marble's Expert. This knife is the Marbles Corp. longest running pattern than any other of Marbles original designs !!! This knife arrived in the Marble's line in 1906 !!! W.L. Marble's intent was to offer a a knife suited to the professional hunter, guides, trapper, that needed a light blade for skinning & dressing, yet with enough strength to handle all the rest of regular outdoor chores...after testing this knife out, Webster announced he was naming this pattern the Expert !!!

This is the Marble's Expert Tigerwood scales & teardrop Aluminum pommel...just a gorgeous combo with the Tigerwood handle set against the brass and fiber spacers !!!

Knife is 9 1/4" OAL with a 5" blade

Blade is stamped : Marbles, Gladstone, Mich. with the 3 line lower case stamp from the 1960's...blade is Razor sharp !!!

Handle is just beautifull grained Tigerwood, really pretty scales and the shape makes this knife very comfortable in the hand

Comes with original Marbles stamped leather sheath of exceptional quality

Whole package comes in old Bobcat box with Marble's paperwork describing this knife being made with vintage blades

Knife & sheath are New in Box condition
